Email folders help to organize your account. If there are messages you would like to save instead of leaving them in your inbox, create additional folders and save them there. This keeps your inbox free of clutter. Apple calls folders “mailboxes”

Creating Mailboxes

Open the mail app.

In the mailboxes list, tap edit in the upper-right corner, then tap new mailbox.

Type a name for the mailbox. If you have more than one email account set up on your device, tap mailbox location and choose the account where you want to create the new mailbox.

Tap save, then tap done.

Move Messages into Mailboxes

Go to your Inbox in the mail app.

Tap edit in the upper-right corner.

Select the email messages, then tap move. Select the mailbox you want to move the message to.

Delete Mailboxes

When you delete a mailbox, all messages stored inside will also be deleted. If you would like to save messages before deleting the mailbox move them to a different mailbox. You can delete any mailboxes you have created. You cannot delete the default mailboxes in the mail app.

Go to your mailboxes list and tap edit in the upper-right corner.

Tap the mailbox you would like to delete. Tap delete mailbox.

Tap delete, then tap done.
