If you’re like most people the outside of your refrigerator may be covered with notes, children’s artwork, photos, magnets, calendars, invitations, coupons, shopping lists, takeout menus, and other items.
A cluttered refrigerator can change the entire look and feel of your kitchen making it look messy and unorganized.
Let’s talk about some ways to clear the clutter and organize the things that are taking up space on your refrigerator.
Sort It
Remove everything on the refrigerator and sort it into organized piles, put items into categories and then go through them and throw away things that are outdated or that you no longer need. If you have reminders and invitations to upcoming events add them to your calendar. A calendar on your phone or computer can be set to remind you of events ahead of time then you can toss the paper copy.
If you want to display your children’s artwork, consider purchasing frames and hanging it up, you can create an art wall specifically for their work, or hang a cork board in their bedroom so they can pin it up.
If you have things stored on top of the refrigerator, take them off and put them in their proper place in the kitchen cupboards or pantry.
Magnet & Cork Boards
Purchase a magnet or cork board to hang in the kitchen, this can be an area designated for the things you want to keep. You can hang calendars, shopping lists, notes, reminders, and other items on the board. This creates one location where everyone knows to look for news and events.
Dry Erase Board
These are great for notes and reminders and can easily be wiped clean and reused.
Use a Binder
For coupons and takeout menus use a binder to organize and store them away in a drawer or cupboard where you can still easily access them, but they will be out of sight.
Once everything is cleaned up and organized your kitchen will look neat and tidy.
